Recommended reading on 2012

I've been reading about 2012 since the early 1980s, when I first found it mentioned in very unusual (to this day) channeled texts entitled "The Ra Material" and three volumes of "The Law of One." These books mentioned it, almost in passing, but then it was confirmed in Jose Arguelles' seminal 1987 book, "The Mayan Factor," which explained the famous Mayan calendar stone's predictions, and announced the coming of the Harmonic Convergence on Aug. 16-17 1987, the final 25-year period before 2012.
I kept getting confirmation about 2012 in a variety of books, not the least of which was Terence and Dennis McKenna's "The Invisible Landscape," their prescient 1975 book in which they tell how they fed the I Ching's mathematics into a computer, and discovered a direct correlation between the chart's variations and the dates of important historical events throughout recorded time. Incredibly, the end date on McKenna's computer chart is Dec. 21, 2012. This discovery occured six years before McKenna learned that the same date -- Dec. 21, 2012 -- was the end date of the Mayan calendar as well, and 12 years before Jose Arguelles announced it to the world.
I also received important confirmation of the 2012 date in the inspired books of Ken Carey, one of the little known prophets of our time. His books "Starseed Transmissions" and "Vision" and "Starseed: The New Millennium" are wonderful confirmation about the spiritual intents and possibilities behind the 2012 events.
These factors really made me sit up and pay attention, so I started acquiring every text I could on the subject. There are so many factors involved in studying 2012, I have learned, that to fully understand what is happening (and is going to happen) requires a lot of reading. Here's my take on what I've read:
BEST OVERALL BOOKS
The single best book explaining the general overall concepts of 2012 for the general population-- without doubt -- is "The Mysteries of 2012: Prophecies, Predictions and Possibilities," by Greg Braden, Jose Arguelles, et al (about 25 authors in all, who each provide 12-15 pages of their best info) who provide a pretty complete picture of what will/may occur.
But that is only an overview of the situation, not the nitty-gritty details, which opens the door to some very incredulous material that will take a great leap in acceptance and understanding to bring into the picture.
Also providing overall 2012 information:
* "The Mayan Factor" by Jose Arguelles, the art historian who decoded the Mayan Calendar, with the help of Mayan elder Hunbatz Men. The book that launched the 2012 phenomenon.
* "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012" by John Major Jenkins (with introduction by Terrence McKenna)
* "2012 The Return of Quetzalcoatl' by Daniel Pinchbeck
* "The Mayan Code: Time Acceleration and the Awakening of the World Mind" by Barbara Hand Clow
* "The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness" by Carl Johan Calleman, Ph.D
* "2012: Mayan Year of Destiny" by Adrian Gilbert
(Don't bother with Whitley Streiber's "2012," which is a novel.)
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BUT DECIDEDLY DIFFERENT:
* The Sirian Revelations Trilogy" by Patricia Cori, a phenomenal trio of channeled books which bring together all of the factors involved in the 2012 events: UFO visitations, ET contact and experimentation, ET manipulation of human DNA, the histories of Lemuria and Atlantis, secret government manipulation of humanity, DNA reconnection and ascension, Crop Circles, the secret agenda of NASA, etc. in three stunning new books: "The Cosmos of Soul: A Wakeup Call for Humanity," "Atlantis Rising: The Struggle of Darkness and Light," and the best of the trio, "No More Secrets, No More Lies: A Handbook to Starseed Awakening."
Also highly recommended is Patricia Cori's "The Starseed Dialogues: Soul Searching the Universe," a companion book to "The Sirian Revelations," a Q&A book which answers many questions, all channelled.
(To fully understand "The Sirian Revelations Trilogy," it is very helpful to have background knowledge provided by the Ra Material, as well as the books of Zecharia Sitchin.)
* The books of Ken Carey: "The Starseed Transmissions," "Vision" and "Starseed: The Third Millennium" (highly recommended but more of a cosmic/spiritual overview of what's happening, not case specific to 2012, although the year is forecast as the time when much of the book's prophecy will be realized.)
* The books of Barbara Marciniak: "Earth: Pleiadian Keys to the Living Library," "Family of Light," and "Bringers of the Dawn: Teachings from the Pleiadians." (All channeled)
* The books of Barbara Hand Clow: the previously mentioned "The Mayan Code," and also "Heart of the Christos: Starseeding from the Pleiades," "The Pleiadian Agenda: A New Cosmology for the Age of Light," and "Catastrophobia: The Truth Behind Earth Changes in the Coming Age of Light." (All channeled)
* The books of Zecharia Sitchin: "The 12th Planet," "The Stairway to Heaven," "The Wars of Gods and Men," "The Lost Realms," "When Time Began," and "The Cosmic Code." Sitchin is an epigrapher, who reads all the ancient middle eastern languages. He deciphered the famous cuneiform tablets from the Library of Nineveh, and realized they were not telling myths or legends, as contemporary historians claim, but instead were recording real-time historical events in the most durable manner possible at the time, which told of the arrival of ETs from the planet Nibiru who genetically modified humanity by stripping it of 10 of its 12 strands of DNA to enslave humanity. (This condition still exists, which is why humanity operates on only 10 percent of its brain capacity, and can be reversed for optimal ascension during the 2012 events.) His last, "The End of Days: Armageddon and Prophecies of the Return" is also recommended. (SOME INCREDIBLE STUFF IN THESE BOOKS!!)
* The books of Terence and Dennis McKenna, particularly "The Invisible Landscape," in which the I Ching discoveries are detailed, but also "True Hallucinations" and "The Archaic Revival" although the last two are not about 2012.
* The best book explaining the astronomical/geophysical events forecast to come in 2012 is entitled "You Are Becoming A Galactic Human," by Virginia Essene and Sheldon Nidle. This highly detailed channelled book explains how our entire solar system will soon enter into the Photon Belt, what to expect might occur on a human social level when it does, including some great diagrams to help you understand the process as it will unfold. While in the Photon Belt, which science first discovered in 1961, Earth will be bombarded with intense photon light beams which are forecast to cause widespread disruption on Earth, including the possibility of many unusual events, such as the polar shift we've all heard about. A great deal of descriptive helpful information is channeled in this book, which helps you understand what is forecast to occur. (Warning: However, this book also presents some of the weirdest material out there on the pre-history of Earth and what it has gone through over the millennia.) (I checked on Amazon.com the other day, and there were 60-some used copies of this book available for as little as 99 cents. Of course the postage will cost you $12 and you have to order from a seller who ships internationally.)
* Parallel to this book is a book channeled by Virginia Essene and 11 other channels on 2012 ascension information and advice: "New Cells, New Bodies, New Life." which tells us how our DNA activation is required for optimal ascension possibilities. We must have our DNA reconnected or we will not be able to handle the huge amounts of incoming spiritual light and energy, we are told.
I can also highly recommend "New Teachings for an Awakening Humanity," by The Christ (channeled through Virginia Essene, a college professor) which issues a clarion wakeup call for us all during this exceptional period of Earth's history. While not about 2012, it deals with the changes that must come for ascension in 2012.
This list does not include books on the many corresponding issues like UFOs, crop circles, Atlantis and Lemuria, mystery sites on Earth, DNA reactivation, metaphysical phenomena, etc., all of which play a part in our awakening.
